Tata Electronics and Dutch semiconductor company ASML have signed a partnership agreement for India’s first semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera Smart City, Gujarat. The partnership is a major step towards strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing sector.
Under this collaboration, ASML will provide advanced lithography technology and solutions for Tata Electronics’ upcoming semiconductor fab in Dholera. The project is expected to support chip manufacturing for industries like automotive, mobile, artificial intelligence (AI), and communication technology.
The semiconductor fab is being developed with an investment of around ₹91,000 crore and is expected to create thousands of employment opportunities in Gujarat. The facility will also help India reduce dependence on imported semiconductor chips.
The partnership was announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Netherlands. Officials said the project would help develop local talent, improve supply chains, and boost India’s position in the global semiconductor industry.
The Dholera semiconductor project is considered one of the biggest technology investments in India and is expected to play an important role in the future growth of Dholera Smart City.
