Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway and launched development projects worth more than ₹20,000 crore in Gujarat on 31 March 2026. The large-scale infrastructure push is expected to strengthen connectivity, industrial growth, logistics, and investment opportunities across the Dholera region.
The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway is a 109-kilometer access-controlled greenfield corridor developed to improve travel between Ahmedabad and Dholera SIR. The expressway is designed as a four-lane highway with future expansion capability up to eight lanes. The project is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve transportation efficiency for industries and businesses operating in the region.
During the inauguration ceremony, PM Narendra Modi highlighted that the projects launched include developments in roads, railways, housing, and energy sectors. The ₹20,000 crore investment package is expected to accelerate infrastructure development and create new economic opportunities in Gujarat.
The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway is also considered an important connectivity project for the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and the upcoming Dholera International Airport. The inauguration marks another major milestone in Gujarat’s infrastructure development journey and strengthens Dholera’s position as one of India’s emerging industrial and smart city destinations.
