The Government of Gujarat has signed a major ₹25,000 crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with L&T Vyoma to develop a 250 MW green AI-ready hyperscale data center campus at Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR). The project marks another significant milestone in Gujarat’s vision to become a leading hub for artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and sustainable technology development.
The agreement was signed during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in the presence of Gujarat’s Science and Technology Department officials. The proposed AI-ready data center will support advanced cloud computing, AI training workloads, data storage, and high-performance digital operations.
The project is planned as a green energy-powered facility, aligning with India’s growing focus on sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure. Dholera SIR was selected due to its excellent infrastructure, planned smart city development, strong connectivity, and availability of renewable energy resources.
According to reports, the project will be developed in phases, with the first phase expected to become operational by 2028. The investment is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities and strengthen Gujarat’s position as a major destination for technology and semiconductor-related investments.
